NAMI NH's Exclusive Screening of the Film Canvas with Specail Guest Speaker, Joe Pantoliano!
Mental Illness Awareness Week Event
NAMI NH wishes to thank Joe Pantoliano, star and producer of the film Canvas for joining us for our special Mental Illness Awareness Week event on October 9, 2008.
To wrap up Mental Illness Awareness Week, NAMI NH offered an exclusive screening of the film Canvas at the Red River Theatres in Concord. After the film, Joe spoke to the audience about his own story of mental illness (he has been diagnosed with clinical depression) and autographed copies of Canvas DVD's.
Earlier in the evening, NAMI NH held a private reception for Pantoliano at the Centennial Hotel. Joe mingled with the crowd and discussed the making of the film while providing photo ops for everyone in attendance (see photos below).

About Canvas
When Mary’s (Marcia Gay Harden) mental illness puts herself and her family in jeopardy, her husband (Joe Pantoliano) and son (Devon Gearhart) helplessly watch as she is torn from her family by the police. Forced to raise a boy on his own and cope with his wife’s schizophrenia, father and son learn what it is to truly be a family.
Inspired by a true story, this critically-acclaimed and award-winning film is as full of hope and humor as it is heartbreaking performances.
DVD's of the film are available for purchase through NAMI NH for the low price of just $15. To order your copy, please visit the NAMI NH Store.
