Parents Meeting the Challenge

NAMI NH offers a FREE 8-session educational program for parents and primary caregivers of children and adolescents with serious emotional disorders. The curriculum will provide tools, strategies and information to help parents meet the challenges of parenting a child with emotional and behavioral disorders, to navigate and advocate for their child’s mental health needs. This program is taught by parents, with both knowledge and personal experience, who are specially trained in the program. Registration is required.

PMC Teacher Training

Parents Meeting the Challenge (PMC) is looking for family members who are interested in teaching the program in their community. So who is a good candidate for a teacher in the Parents Meeting the Challenge program?
An individual who:

  • Is a NAMI NH member
  • Is a parent or primary caregiver of a child/youth under the age of 25 years
  • Has taken the Parents Meeting the Challenge, Visions for Tomorrow or other educational program related to serious emotional disorders/mental illness
  • Is available to teach one 8-week program per year in their community
  • Feels comfortable speaking in front of groups
  • Is willing to learn and share their knowledge and experiences
