This newsletter is currently sent to leaders, teachers, NAMI NH staff and board members, so please make copies, or forward emails to add members to the distribution list.
Upcoming Events-
June 21- NAMI NH Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner
At the Bedford Village Inn, Bedford NH
Cocktails and Appetizers at 5:00 followed by the annual meeting, dinner and the awards presentations.
Special Event – the lifetime achievement award for the founder of NAMI NH, Peggy Straw. Dinner cost- $45.00

Walk Meeting- June 14 **** 5:30-7:00
The 2006 walk committee is holding 3 large planning sessions and need the input of affiliates, teachers, team captains and walkers, everyone!! Please come and help in the planning of NAMI NH’s biggest and most important event! All meetings will be at the Concord NAMI office, with dinner being provided.
Funds raised at this years walk will go to support our core programs, such as Family to Family, Visions for Tomorrow and Support Group Facilitation.
Please RSVP for Dinner by June 12, so we can serve you when you arrive.
June 14- Planning for Kickoffs
Where should we hold them?
What do team captains need to help build their teams?
What type of presentation would be helpful to excite and enthuse our captains?

The SAMHSA Resource Center to Address Discrimination and Stigma Associated With Mental Illness invites you to participate in a free teleconference training titled, "Transition to Adulthood: Strategies for Overcoming Stigma and Achieving Positive Outcomes for
Young Adults."

Date: Thursday, May 25, 2006
Time: 12:00 PM-1:30 PM (Eastern Time)

The staff of the SAMHSA ADS Center will discuss the diverse skills and supports required to help young people overcome stigma and succeed on the job. In addition to reviewing the effects that stigma and stigma-reduction programs have on transition-age youth, speakers will examine research and strategies for effectively working with young adults, families, and employers. The training also will feature one young person's first-person account of overcoming stigma in the workplace and accessing effective services.

Affiliate News-
Plymouth- Family members have asked for help starting a new NAMI NH support group in their area. An introductory meeting will be held in June. This is an exciting opportunity to bring NAMI NH support to the Plymouth area.

Our new Administrative assistant, Monica, is a master at keeping up the NAMI NH website, new pages and information are being added each week, so be sure to check in often.

NEEDED –
Volunteers for the Mental Illness Awareness Week Events and Planning!! NAMI NH has secured funding to produce the following events the first week of October. This means MIAW will be bigger and bolder than ever!! If you have an interest in any of the following events please contact Claudia Ferber at cferber@naminh.org.

Arts and Recovery Exhibit
Book and Discussion Group for elementary students
“Real Men, Real Depression”
“In Our Own Voice” Campus Presentations

Please record calls or emails you receive regarding your affiliate. If you need another copy of the I & R (Information and Referral) Log please let me know. The information from these log sheets is vital to our grant writing.
